Super Smash Bros. Brawl Baits You To Buy More Virtual Arcade Games

Super Smash Bros. With the release of the most anticipated Wii title of 2008 pushed back yet again, Nintendo clearly had to do something to prevent the few who clearly have no taste in video games from influencing Nintendo fanboys world wide. While not adding anything new directly to the game, it looks like Nintendo has opted to load any empty space that disc might have had with virtual arcade demos of your favorite Super Smash Bros. Brawl characters, and even the ones you didn’t care about.

The confirmed list on the Super Smash Bros. Brawl blog lists Ice Climber, Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Kid Icarus, Kirby’s Adventure, Super Metroid and Star Fox 64 as some of the playable demos. While many could care less about Kid Icarus, it seems that there will be several more demos hidden on the disc when it finally launches on March 9th.

Although this game looks to be one of the biggest reasons to dust off your Nintendo Wii and join in to some serious online battles, you have to wonder if pushing the date back yet again will do damage to its sales. While it was initially slated to launch after the holiday season, it still would have made it’s mark while kids still had money in their pockets or their parents credit card bill hasn’t come in yet. I know I’ve already spent all the holiday money I had saved up, some of it even put aside for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but I’ve since spent that money pre-ordering Duke Nukem Forever.
